While working at one of my summer jobs in college, I was told by a co-worker that my choice of clothing was "distracting the men." This experience was an entry point into my project, corp., which explores the stereotypes and inequality women face in the working world. This project began with the exploration of women’s work clothes and soon expanded to the idea of young women beginning their career in order to address the over-sexualization of young, working women as well as the anger and frustration they face. With the use of mixed media, this project explores the idea of how age and clothing can mean so much more than a woman’s intelligence or ambition.
